Time travel and doppelgängers are major parts of The Flash, so it would hardly be unusual for the show to make an alternate, evil version of its main character the big bad. If you want to place a bet on Savitar’s true identity, this is your safest money right here. Is this random-ass man Savitar? DC Barry Allen Is Savitar Since he’s almost certainly a familiar face (or an alternate universe or timeline version of a familiar face), here are the three leading theories among fans: It seems pretty damn-near impossible that the show will take the same route as the comics by making Savitar a rando, as they’ve built up the mystery of his identity too much for it to be someone we’ve never met before. ![]() Rather than encase himself in futuristic armor, the comics Savitar is shirtless. This character is a far cry from the Savitar of the show. ![]() He named himself “Savitar” after the Hindu god of motion. While flying an experimental supersonic jet, he was struck by lightning and gained access to the Speed Force when the plane crashed. In those comics, Savitar’s real identity was an unnamed Eastern European test pilot. The character was created by Mark Waid and Oscar Jimenez during their acclaimed run on The Flash in the 1990s. Looking to the original DC comics for clues or spoilers regarding Savitar’s identity isn’t going to be much help.
